For my idea, the genre in which my title sequence will take place is Drama.
A convention of a drama film is that the character(s) and/or plot are all relatable and that everything is grounded. The plots of drama films usually tackle everyday problems. Taking all of this into account, my title sequence would start with the screen being pitch black. A quick cut will then take us to our first real image which will be a family picture which has fallen and the protective glass has cracked. To accompany the quick cut will be a sharp fleeting piano note. Another series of quick cuts will then ensue along with the same piano note. The second image will be of a spinning wedding ring on a table. The next shot would be a wide shot of a destroyed living room. The next shot would be a close up of a man walking. The final shot would be a close up of his hand taking the ring and putting it onto his finger.
The plot would be of a marriage that has become self destructive. The wife has mysteriously died and the husband is nowhere to be see. As one would expect he is the prime suspect but there is more to the story is one does not take it at face value. Social groups I could introduce in with a plot like this are in-groups, for the fugitive husband he would need someone to confide in, someone who listens to him, that would be in the in-group. There would be a formal group in the form of the police, who would lead the hunt and be integral parts of the story.
