Importance of sound in film (15)

Sound in film.

 Screening 1 - without sound
How I felt when watching the sequence

When watching the sequence I found it hard to engage. I was very confused as I saw many moving images of cars and people in a city but I didn't know what was going on. At the same time in intrigued me as I rushed to try figure out what is going on.

 Screening 2 - with sound
How I felt watching the sequence

I felt much more engaged with the film, it drew me in more. The sound was upbeat and catchy and is made the sequence even more entertaining to watch than when it had no sound.

To conclude, I think the sound is important within a film. it helps you find out what is going on and what type of film you are going to watch. It can make you want to carry on watching or terminate watching. It makes the film more engaging and gives it a sense of reality.
