Sub-genre - subdivision of a genre of literature, music, film etc.
Hybrid genre- (cross genre) genre in fiction that blends themes and elements from two or more different genres.
Codes and conventions - systems of signs, which create meaning and generally accepted ways of doing something.
Genre tropes - cliches, figure of speech for a certain genre.
My favorites;
Horror
ghosts, spirits, flashing images, pop ups and inhumane creatures.
e.g The Conjuring, Mama. Paranormal activity, Sinister.

Jokes, costumes, puns, silly or dumb behavior
E.g Blue streak, Get hard, Think like a man and 22 Jump street

Overall i prefer these genres. i like Horror because i am all for scary scenes. i like being scared stiff and seeing scary images and ghosts pop up on to screen making me fear for my life. i also like Comedy because i am all for a good laugh. Comedies tell some funny jokes and have some really silly characters which make the film even more enjoyable when you can laugh at or with them. Lastly, Children film are an all time classic. you can never be too old for a kids film. the animations and unrealistic things bring back childhood memories and generally make you happy.
